Aleksander Zadel, PhD, and Melita Joželj Nose: Trust and evolution – can I survive without trust?

There are three types of trust. One is the basic trust we are born with. It is clear that some of us are more trusting, others less so. The second is trust which is formed on the basis of experience with oneself and others. The third type of trust is developed when we trust someone because they are trusted by someone we trust. This is, in addition to the first two types of trust which are direct, an indirect type of trust. It is therefore not unusual for those who see themselves as people who do not trust anyone to still get into a car made by many people they do not even know and eat food prepared by strangers. The best way to see how society is connected is through the phenomenon of mutual trust.

Aleksander Zadel, PhD, a psychologist, is one of Slovenia's most distinguished lecturers, known mainly to a wider circle of economists. Alexander Zadel is also a clinical psychologist and father of four. He is the author of the best-selling book Two Faces of one World and The Third Face, which helps parents understand what they can give their children to help them become responsible, independent and confident people. Aleksander Zadel is able to explain complex scientific ideas using examples from everyday life. With a touch of humour, he invites listeners to reflect more deeply on themselves and their relationships with other people.

Melita Joželj Nose, a partner at Herman & Partners, has been committed to communication, leadership and relationship management throughout her professional career. She follows the principle that relationships are the key to everything and that relationships should not only be built, but also constantly nurtured.
