Arriving in good time
During the festive season in December, traffic tends to get heavily congested in Ljubljana. Visitors are advised to leave home earlier than usual to avoid arriving late.
Culture for all
Disabled visitors are kindly requested to inform us of their arrival or book tickets for visitors using wheelchairs by contacting vstopnice@cd-cc.si or dialling 01/2417-299 as spaces designated for wheelchairs are limited due to the architectural specifics of Cankarjev dom’s halls.
If on arriving you require escort to the space designated for wheelchairs, please dial 01/2417-100.
Access for wheelchair users
Most suitable access for disabled visitors is Entrance I from Prešernova Street, where a ramp for wheelchairs has been laid. It is possible to enter CD through an automatic sliding door (width 105cm) or double folding door (width 220cm). From there, entry is enabled to all Cankarjev dom halls.
Entrance from Maxi passageway is through double folding door (width 190cm), which admits direct access to Foyer I over a rather steep ramp. An accompanying person is required. If you need assistance, please dial 01/2417-100.
Entrance from the Republic Square platform is stair-free and through a double folding door (width 190cm).
The ground-floor lift provides access to all foyers and halls. The door is 110cm wide (cage width 110cm, length 230cm).
Special, readily accessible spaces have been designated for disabled visitors in the auditoriums.
The number of spaces is limited owing to the halls’ seating capacity:
Gallus Hall 7 spaces (circle, Entrance A2)
Linhart Hall 4 spaces (2 in upper stalls, 2 on balcony)
Kosovel Hall 4 spaces in stalls
Štih Hall 4 spaces (near the entrance)
CD Club 3 spaces
Accompanying persons
It is strongly recommended that disabled visitors are escorted by an accompanying person. Visitors using a walker are likewise advised to have an escort and choose a seat in the immediate vicinity of the exit from the hall; Our usher staff will provide assistance and store your walker during the event.
Next to the cloakroom in the Grand Reception Hall and Foyers I and II, special designated lavatories have been provided.
For visitors with a hearing aid
Linhart and Kosovel Halls and CD Club are equipped with an audio induction loop, an assistive listening technology for receiving indoor or surround sound through a wireless signal picked up by the hearing aid. Before entering an auditorium, hearing aids need to be switched to the T setting.
Guide dogs for the blind are welcome to enter our premises. You are kindly requested to inform us of your arrival in advance by contacting vstopnice@cd-cc.si or dialling 01/2417-299.
