The star of this year’s traditional New Year's great opera arias concert is the world-class soprano Sylvia D'Eramo. A graduate of the Yale School of Music, the US-born lyric soprano with an impressive vocal range and stunning stage presence has already made mainstage debuts at the Metropolitan Opera, the Santa Fe Opera, Palm Beach Opera, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, and the Philadelphia Orchestra, among others. In 2021, she debuted in the role of Mimi in La Boheme under James Gaffigan at the Verbier Festival in Switzerland, where she was awarded the Thierry Mermod top singer prize.

In a programme dedicated to the most beautiful opera arias, duets and orchestral interludes, Sylvia will be joined by the brilliant Slovenian tenor Martin Sušnik. The outstanding vocalists will be accompanied by the SNG Maribor Symphony Orchestra conducted by Simon Krečič.
