Martin Sturm, the youngest Professor for Organ and Organ Improvisation at the Franz Liszt University of Music in Weimar and recipient of the 2018 Bavarian Culture Prize has won numerous international competitions, most notably the First Prize and Special Prize for Best Performance on historical organs at the 2018 ION International Organ Competition in Nuremberg. One of the most prominent exponents of the 'Queen of Instruments’, Sturm has extensive experience in organ performance across all stylistic periods, and has initiated and supervised various organ building and restoration projects.
A world-class interpreter and talented improviser also devoted to composing, Martin Sturm will take the Ljubljana audience on a journey into the realms of monumental sound: from original gems and brilliant arrangements to idiosyncratic improvisations that have earned him the reputation of a charismatic young virtuoso.
