Arriving in good time
During the festive season in December, traffic tends to get heavily congested in Ljubljana. Visitors are advised to leave home earlier than usual to avoid arriving late.
Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra
Conductor: Pierre Bleuse
Soloist: Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, piano
Programme:
Anton Lajovic: Adagio
Maurice Ravel: Piano Concerto in G major
César Franck: Symphony in D minor
There are many similarities in the romantic music of Anton Lajovic and César Franck. Although from completely different musical backgrounds, they are connected by a direct musical language, imbued with the romantic spirit. In both composers, this was often reflected in music with a religious theme. Between the two noble archaic compositions, Maurice Ravel’s mischievous Piano Concerto will be performed by the outstanding pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet.
