Arriving in good time
During the festive season in December, traffic tends to get heavily congested in Ljubljana. Visitors are advised to leave home earlier than usual to avoid arriving late.
9. bienale slovenske sodobne plesne umetnosti GIBANICA
Radio Hit project originates from the author’s fascination with the fact that music hits are always recognized, and that we often know their lyrics and melodies without deliberately listening to them first. In the project, the author looks at music hits from different aspects, with special focus on personal dimension, memories and stories related to our favorite hits. Do people have special choreographies and dances for their favorite hits? In what way can instructions for creating music hits be applied to dancing? Is it possible to create movement material through which an audience could recognize the hit to which it was created without hearing the music? Hit have the power to transport us in space and time, leading us to memories that we may have already forgotten. If several members of the audience have personal memories linked to the same hit, the circle of experience is complete – it returns from personal, through common back to personal.
Radio Hit is a performance about the pleasures of listening and dancing to our favorite hits, about the nearly forgotten memories, and about the desire to dance. Urša Sekirnik
