Arriving in good time
During the festive season in December, traffic tends to get heavily congested in Ljubljana. Visitors are advised to leave home earlier than usual to avoid arriving late.
Our Cultural Education and Literature Humanities programme is based on a sustainable approach and quality education.
Approved by an expert committee, the programme has been recognized for its quality, on a par with the best international programmes. It brings together a wide range of events from various fields of culture, the arts and education, focusing on communication with coordinators of cultural and arts education. Mention should be made of the professional training of cultural coordinators in Slovenian educational institutions organised within the framework of the national cross-sectoral project Cultural Bazaar. Cankarjev dom has been the event's executive producer for the past fifteen years.
We also pride ourselves in our Storytelling Festival, which opens the door for folk tales to public life and introduces storytelling into other artistic genres, as well as in our Transgeneracije Festival of Secondary-school Student Creativity.
Also notable are the literary programme whose most prominent event is the festival Fabula World Literatures and the Five and One Nights Storytelling Series. Our diversified season series for young audiences (My First Subscription, Ivan Subscription) feature a selection of CD's own productions, productions by Slovenian national theatres and co-productions with non-governmental organisations.
