Arriving in good time
During the festive season in December, traffic tends to get heavily congested in Ljubljana. Visitors are advised to leave home earlier than usual to avoid arriving late.
Literary evening
In her own way, Ana Marwan is a unique Slovenian literary phenomenon, writing in two languages and notching up notable success in both Slovenia and German-speaking countries. In 2022, her novel Zabubljena (Cocooned) received the Kritiško sito Award, and the following year her novella Wechselkröte (Krota) won the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize, one of the most important awards for Germanophone literature. Although occupying a unique position, Marwan ranks alongside Maja Haderlap and Florijan Lipuš, the great literary figures who also write in both Slovenian and German. However, Ana Marwan's work is fully informed by the modern understanding of literature, which subtly shines through all of her writing.
The event will be held in Slovenian with no translation.
